Christian Wood is getting used to his new home with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The big man has participated in every preseason game so far and is getting comfortable with his new teammates.

On Wednesday night, he produced 13 points and 4 rebounds coming off the bench.

“I think I’m starting to find my rhythm,” Wood told Spectrum SportsNet following the game.

“I think I’m getting better every game. I feel like the coaching staff is putting me in positions to find my spots on the floor,” he added.

Wood said that head coach Darvin Ham is trying out a number of lineups during the preseason.

He is figuring out which players work best together and what the season ahead will look like.

It’s not entirely clear where Wood is going to fit in but he’s happy to be a part of the team.

Last season, Wood averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Dallas Mavericks.

He seemed to be meshing well with the team and even worked his way up to a starting spot under head coach Jason Kidd, at least for a while.

But as the season wound down the Mavericks had a number of problems, and most people assumed the team wouldn’t be asking Wood to return in 2023-24.

Sure enough, he became a free agent and was without a team for much of the summer.

The Lakers acquired him toward the end of the offseason and Wood is ready to prove they made the right choice.

He believes he could be a starting player for this squad but he is also excited to add his impact in any way he can for LA.
